The drive south from Red Lodge through mountain canyons
quickly ascends to 10,300 feet via the famous switchbacks of the Beartooth
Pass and takes you to Yellowstone
Park just 60 miles "UP" the road. Charles Kuralt
referred to US Highway 212 as "the most spectacular road in
America"

species .
