For more than 40 years, Beartooth RC&D has provided business technical assistance and community development services in South Central Montana. We know the ins and outs of community and economic development, and our knowledge can make the difference between a successful, well-planned project and a costly one.

History

  • 1969 - Beartooth RC&D begins as a unique partnership with the USDA               Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) to serve Carbon               and Stillwater Counties

  • 1990 - Sweet Grass County is added to the service area

  • 1991 - Yellowstone County is added to the service area

  • 1993 - Big Horn County is added to the service area

  • 1996 - Montana Department of Commerce designation as a Certified                   Regional Development Corporation

  • 1996 - Economic Development Administration designation as an                           Economic Development District

  • 2011 - Moved away from the NRCS model

Methodology

Beartooth RC&D is sponsored and directed by local people as a regional vehicle to improve the economic and social conditions through the conservation, utilization, and development of the natural and human resources of the area.
